Welcome to Joe's Cafe
Joe's Knows Donuts! Joe's Knows Food!
Joe's Cafe is growing (and hiring)! There are 4 locations in the Greater New Orleans area and more on the way. Locations are open 24 hours. The Armand Family opened Joe's Cafe in 1988 to share their family's sweet dough and homestyle cooking recipes with New Orleans. A favorite late-night 24 hour restaurant features a full menu any time of day or night.
Our mission is to stick to the basics by offering our customers homemade cooking, starting with our famous donuts. We start our mornings mixing our own secret donut recipe to serve up a variety of favorites.
We also focus the same amount of attention to the quality of our food. We are committed to giving our customers a fresh home cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our hearty and flavorful breakfast plates are served all day long. For lunch or dinner, try our delicious handcrafted signature burger on a sweet sourdough bun! Or you can try a variety of favorite comfort food dinners and local favorites including Creole, Cajun and dishes.
Welcome to Our Family's Table
History of the Joe's Café family.
James Troy Armand knew at the age of 14 that he had a knack for working restaurants, specifically in the art of donut making. After giving up his first job as a paperboy, James applied for a position with Ms. Helen and Ms. Marilyn, two former nuns who owned the local westbank donut franchise. James aspired to be a donut cutter, he took the position of donut fryer. With absolutely no “official” training, he paid close attention to the donut cutter and quickly mastered the craft. Those hand-cut tasty morsels (glazed donuts) are today's number “1” best seller for all our present Joe’s locations.
After a few years in the donut shop, James pursued another career, but quickly realized that he had a love for the restaurant business. He and his wife, Stacey Favre Armand, bought their first donut restaurant in 1988, located on Lapalco Boulevard in Marrero, Louisiana. James and Stacey, along with their four sons, developed the system and culture at Joe’s Café, founded on the values of hard work and persistence, quality ingredients, great service, and value for the customer.
In the coming years, James’ oldest son Justin, a graduate of Southeastern University in 2009 with a degree in Business Communications, officially joined the ranks as a business partner, and opened his first Joe’s Café on Barataria Boulevard in Marrero in 2011. James and Justin soon after opened a third location, Joe’s Café on Causeway Boulevard in Metairie. In 2017, the family opened a fourth Joe’s Café on the Westbank Expressway in Westwego, Louisiana with their second oldest son, Troy Armand, at the helm. Currently there are plans to open a fifth Joe’s Café in the city of Kenner!
James and his family have taken pride in serving quality products and keeping that handmade and homemade flavor in everything they serve. After all, as our motto says, “Joe’s Knows...” how to make donuts and quality meals, how to give excellent customer service, and how to provide great value to our customers. Joe’s Café will continue to grow our great menu choices and the variety of donuts - from Red Velvet Donuts, our awesome Apple Fritters, as well our famous Mardi Gras King Cakes (that we can’t keep on the shelf during Carnival!). Our philosophy is serve great food - sourced locally, seasoned well, and prepared by people who have a love of great food, with excellent customer focused service, and provide value to the customers, so they will come back time and time again.
Best food we've had since being in Louisiana! Fresh home style cooking! Too bad we don't have a Joe's in Ohio!Darla
